Key Highlights of the 12th Feb 2024 circular:
- Insured Women (IWs) can now claim Maternity Benefits online through the Integrated Portal (IP Portal) using their Universal Account Number (UAN).
- In the absence of UAN: Employees can easily generate one through the unified portal and claim benefits online.
- All cash benefit claims are strongly encouraged to be processed online.
Eligibility:
- Insured women with seeded UANs can directly claim benefits through the IP Portal.
- For IWs facing difficulties without a UAN, the below process to be followed:
- Generate the UAN: Even if the employee is not covered under EPFO, they can generate their UAN through the unified portal: www.unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in.
- Seed the UAN with the respective employer: Employers can then seed the UAN in the system, enabling online claims.
