The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation has officially extended the Scheme to Promote Registration of Employers/Employees (SPREE).
Initially launched on July 1, 2025, to bring eligible persons under the ESI social security umbrella, the scheme was originally scheduled to end on December 31, 2025. However, following numerous requests from employers and stakeholders, the Competent Authority has approved a one-month extension.
Key Details of the Extension:
- The scheme is now operational for an additional month, from January 1, 2026, to January 31, 2026.
- All original terms and conditions from the July 1, 2025, instruction remain unchanged.
- Purpose: This is a one-time opportunity for any units or employees coverable under ESI provisions who have not yet registered to do so and avail the associated benefits.
If your establishment and all eligible employees are already registered and covered under the ESI Act, no further action is required regarding this extension.
