A new feature in the ESI portal is introduced towards the online submission of Maternity Claim benefits. The ESI IP Portal allows the insured woman whose PF UAN Numbers are seeded in the system to submit a claim for maternity benefits. In the event of confinement, maternity benefits are granted for a maximum of 26 weeks, up to 2 surviving children.
It is to be noted that online claim request filing is only possible if the employer has seeded a UAN in ESIC records and the bank information has been validated by the ESIC Branch office. This is a one-time activity. On successful verification of the claim and post approval by ESIC Office the money could be transferred to the Employees’ Bank account directly.
